There are lots of BBQ places in and around Durham, but Bullocks is one of our favorites! They’re closed Sundays and Mondays.

Fantastic small venue for concerts for music lovers. Great acoustics!

Claymakers is a wonderful community gathering center, welcoming
of all artists and students of all levels. It is a great place for people to go for vocation, learning, a sense of community, and healing.

Love these gardens any season of the year. They’re a great escape – you feel like you’re miles away surrounded by so much beauty.

Great insight into the tobacco industry and one of Durham’s most influential families.

We appreciate the different types of events they put on like the Summer PLAYlist series, the Food Truck Rodeos, Black August in the Park, the Iron Pour, and more.

12 – Ellerbe Creek

A lovely and not-too-crowded trail for walkers and cyclists alike. Just watch out for the brontosaurus!

Great spot for beer lovers! Stop by in February when we hope they’ll bring back the Girl Scout Cookie pairing again!

For a lovely Sunday, stop by this small, beautiful museum collection and enjoy brunch at the cafe.

Picnic offers some of the best whole hog barbecue on this side of I-95, but the fried chicken, pimento cheese, deviled eggs, and other choices are exceptional as well. Their Pig Whistle sauce manages to provide an exceptional combination of Eastern and Western style flavors. Well worth a trip off the beaten path.
