Curry Gaskins is an accomplished legal professional with 15 years of experience representing public and private companies, ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to multinational corporations.  Curry frequently advises clients in the manufacturing, engineering, and technology industries, and he brings significant international expertise to Morningstar.

As a former in-house counsel, Curry is a practical business lawyer who enjoys assisting clients with diverse legal needs.  He routinely counsels owners, executives, and investors on mergers, acquisitions, and other complex transactions, including the purchase and sale of engineering, architecture, and other professional services firms.  Curry also possesses extensive experience drafting and negotiating strategic commercial contracts, such as supply, manufacturing, licensing, and tolling agreements.

Before joining Morningstar, Curry practiced at an Am Law 100 firm, where he was a business lawyer in the Corporate & Securities group.  He also led the North American legal team for a Belgian sustainable-materials company, where he spent two years living in Brussels and serving as the company’s go-to U.S. lawyer.  Most recently, Curry served as Regional General Counsel for a Canadian recycling company, which offered closed-loop solutions for lithium-ion batteries.  In these roles, Curry developed a deep understanding of international issues, specialty chemicals, and battery materials, including their chemistries (e.g., LFP and NMC), metals (e.g., lithium, cobalt, and nickel), and applications (e.g., EV and BESS).

When Curry is not practicing law, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with his wife, Erica, and their two children.
