MLG’s Mitch Tuchman negotiates film, TV deal for literary agency

Argent Pictures has optioned the film and television rights for a much-anticipated debut novel from award-winning author Rea Frey. Morningstar Law Group’s Mitch Tuchman represented Frey’s literary agency, Holloway Literary, and worked closely with the agency’s owner, Nikki Terpilowski, to close the deal. Mitch recently worked with the Cannon Foundation on their film, Charles A. Cannon: A Mind for Business, a Heart for People (2017), and currently provides legal assistance to producers working on a prospective television series. Mitch has also represented authors and authors’ estates in matters related to motion picture/TV options.

Before becoming an intellectual property attorney, Mitch Tuchman spent ten years as a freelance writer/editor and fourteen years as publisher of exhibition and collection catalogs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Having been both a publisher and writer, Mitch has a unique understanding of copyright matters and helps writers and other creatives optimize the value of their works, defend their rights, and develop mutually beneficial business relationships.
