Morningstar Law Group is delighted to announce that Michael Ovsievksy has joined the firm as a Of Counsel. Michael is a transactional attorney with experience in a diverse range of legal areas, with an emphasis in complex commercial real estate and finance matters, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate transactional engagements. In his primary area of practice, Michael represents property owners, developers and lenders in the acquisition, disposition and financing of residential and commercial real estate projects, and landlords and tenants in the leasing of office, medical office, industrial and retail space. In addition, Michael has a background in corporate transactional matters, with an emphasis on the real estate components of buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, where he regularly negotiates letters of intent and primary deal documents in asset and stock purchase structures, and affiliation and joint venture arrangements, leads due diligence, and guides transactions through closing.

Michael joins Morningstar Law Group from K&L Gates, where he was a partner in the Real Estate Investment, Development and Finance group. Michael is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the Cary Chamber of Commerce, and the Real Estate Affinity Group of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). He is a LEED Accredited Professional, has been named a North Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Star in each of the past three years (2012-2014), and has served as a guest lecturer in real estate at The University of North Carolina – Kenan Flagler School of Business.
