Mitch Tuchman, an attorney at Morningstar Law Group, was appointed by the Durham City-County Appearance Commission for two years, filling a vacancy created by the departure of another member prior to the expiration of his three-year term. After Mitch’s initial term, he will be eligible for two full three-year terms.
The Commission is an advisory body. Its mission is to improve the aesthetic character of the city and county. It reviews and comments on urban development proposals and each year awards prizes for noteworthy architectural and environmental projects.
The Commission consists of fifteen members, comprising at least ten architects, landscape architects, other design professionals, realtors, builders and developers. The remaining members are selected subject to a competitive process. Mitch is a copyright attorney with a demonstrated interest in architecture.
