Jennifer Oxford is a real estate lawyer who focuses on the transactional aspects of commercial real estate law. She assists clients with all aspects of real estate development, including acquisitions, sales, financings, development, and leasing, and has experience serving as the lead real estate attorney on projects from start to finish.

Jennifer has a passion for real estate, complemented by an undergraduate degree in civil engineering, a master’s degree in regional planning, and a prior career in both fields. This experience uniquely positions her to understand your needs and provide relevant advice tailored to your situation.

Prior to joining Morningstar Law Group, Jennifer sharpened her real estate skills as an associate at K&L Gates and Ellinger & Carr. Before practicing law, she worked as a transportation planner preparing bicycle and pedestrian plans for communities in North Carolina and conducting Safe Routes to School workshops in North Carolina, Virginia, and New York. These experiences have given Jennifer valuable insights to help solve her clients’ needs.

A native of Durham and a graduate of Durham Academy, Jennifer enjoys swimming, running, and spending time with her family.

  • Represents developers in the acquisition, financing, and sale of parcels in Durham, Orange and Wake Counties
  • Served as lead counsel for acquisition of 700 acres in Chatham County and 515 acres in Southeast Raleigh
  • Served as lead counsel for acquisition, financing, and subdivision of Downtown Raleigh historic food hall
  • Provided advice and counsel on Downtown Raleigh affordable housing redevelopment
  • Represented buyer on acquisition of assemblage parcel in Downtown Durham for redevelopment into townhomes
  • Represented seller in defeasance and sale of shopping center out-parcel in Moore County
