About

Ken has represented buyers and sellers in numerous acquisitions, divestitures and mergers ranging in size from $100,000 to over $750,000,000.  Ken has represented business entities in structuring and negotiating joint ventures and strategic alliances. Ken also provides general corporate and business advice to many of North Carolina’s leading companies.

Education/Admissions

Ken is a 1982 graduate of Wake Forest University and a 1985 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was a member of the Wake Forest Law Review, and was recognized on the Scholastic Honors List and received the James F. Hoge Award.

Ken is a member of the Wake County Bar Association, and is past chair of the Business Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.

Prior to co-founding Morningstar Law Group, Ken was a partner at Womble Carlyle, where he practiced for over 25 years.

Since 2001, Ken has been selected for The Best Lawyers in America for his work in Corporate Law and in 2005, he was named to the Best Attorneys Network.  He has also been selected as a Super Lawyer from 2008-2016. Ken is a member of the Wake County, North Carolina and American Bar Associations and is Immediate Past Chair of the Business Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.

  • Negotiation and documentation of the merger of a successful North Carolina based real estate brokerage firm with a national real estate brokerage firm.
  • Representation of a large international corporation in several acquisitions in the wireless communications sector.
